James holds a Master of Arts degree from Trinity College Dublin. In 2008 he became a solicitor through the Law Society of Ireland. He apprenticed and practiced at a leading commercial law firm in Dublin. James completed the National Committee on Accreditation process of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada before he was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2012. He articled at Thompson, Tooze, McLean & Elkin.
James’ practice comprises insurance litigation primarily. In defending personal injury, product liability and property damage claims James appears before the Superior Court of Justice on a regular basis. He has also appeared before the Small Claims Court and the Landlord & Tenant Board where he has successfully defended actions at trials and hearings.
