Donald G. Martin, Q.C. is senior counsel to Thompson, Tooze, McLean and Elkin. He began his career at this firm as an articling student and he has practised here since he was called to the Ontario bar in 1964. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1982.Donald G. Martin, Q.C. has over fifty years of practice experience in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on insurance defence litigation.

EDUCATION

After Attending the University of Western in London Ontario, Donald G. Martin, Q.C. graduated from the Osgoode Hall Law School in 1962.

EXPERIENCE

Donald G. Martin, Q.C. practice focuses extensively on insurance defence, complex personal injury, estate, and property damage disputes. Throughout the province of Ontario, Donald G. Martin, Q.C. has conducted over jury and non-jury trials. He has made successful appearances before the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has appeared at all levels of court, including the Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court, and several provincial tribunals.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

He received the LIFE MEMBER from the Law Society. He is also a member of the Advocates Society. From his wealth of experience, he engages in mentoring and counselling junior staff.
