Mark Elkin is the Managing Partner at Thompson, Tooze, McLean, and Elkin and has over 25 years of experience in civil litigation. Before attending law school, Mark Elkin enjoyed a career as a claims adjuster and claims supervisor within the insurance industry in Ontario. Through this experience, Mark Elkin has garnered an advantage that few insurance litigators possess.

EDUCATION

Mark Elkin graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1978 and, after a career in the insurance industry, graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1989

EXPERIENCE

Upon his call to the bar in 1991, he joined the law firm of Sawyers, Liswood, Scott, Hickman and practiced in medical practice and general insurance litigation. He joined the law firm of Thompson, Tooze, McLean, and Rollo in 1992 and became a partner in 1996. He assumed the role of Managing Partner in 2001, which he has held since then.

Mark Elkin has argued numerous successful jury and non-jury trials both for plaintiff and defendants. He has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario and has built a reputation as one of the most experienced jury trial lawyers in Ontario.
